Cream cheese paste:

  • 6 tablespoons of cream cheese (90 g)
  • Sicilian lemon zests
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Toast:

  • 4 large slices of sourdough bread
  • Olive oil, for grilling

Breaded Chicken Steaks:

  • 4 steaks of Breaded Chicken Steaks
  • 4 slices of Emmental cheese
  • ½ cup of tomato sauce (125 ml)

Garnishes:

  • Leafy greens
  • 2 ripe Roma tomatoes, sliced
  • Basil leaves


  • Mix the cream cheese paste ingredients in a bowl and keep them in the fridge.
  • Apply olive oil to the slices of bread and grill both sides.
  • Preheat the oven to 180 °C/356 °F and cook the Breaded Chicken Steaks in a tray for 10 minutes. Add tomate sauce over each steak and top with a cheese slice. Cook for another 10 minutes.
  • Apply a layer of paste to the toast, add the leafy greens and tomato slices. Place the Breaded Chicken Steak and finish with basil leaves.

You can also cook the Breaded Chicken Steaks in an air fryer at 180 °C/356 °F for 10
minutes , then add the sauce and cheese and cook for another 6 minutes.
